Enough hair to do

So I've always wanted to put Naomi's hair in ponytails, but she has never had enough hair until now. She actually let me put her hair in pigtails on Thursday and a little ponytail on Friday and they stayed in most of the day.

Another Zoo Trip

The Phoenix Zoo is a lot of fun and really big so we went to the zoo again with our friends Nicole and Caleb. We went on this train ride that takes you around the whole zoo. It was nice to sit and see some of the animals we didn't see last time. After the train ride went to the exhibits Sting Ray Bay and the Arizona wildlife. Naomi liked looking at the sting rays but every time they swam by she would jump away. It was fun to see all the animals that are native to Arizona, but I am now a little weary of going on hikes because most of these animals I would not want to go near.

Thanks Nicole for taking us. Here are a couple pictures.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We showed Naomi this picture and she said, "I cute."

Adventures in Babysitting

So when I was younger I liked babysitting and thought it would be fun to be like a nanny. Well this week was my time. Our neighbors went out of town for the week and asked us to babysit their 4 kids. The kids' ages were 11, 9, 6ish, and almost 4. Cory also started some web design work this week, so he was a little busy. So it was Naomi, me, and the kids. It was a lot of fun and really, really tough at times. I didn't mind watching the kids for a week, but I don't think I could do it full time, I wouldn't mind every once in a while but it definitely fulfilled my need to be a nanny.

There are two things I learned from this experience.

First, I'm so glad you usually have one kid at a time. Going from caring for one kid to caring for five is tough. And second, that I need to apologize to my mom for any grief I gave her about going to school. I'm sorry for those times I fought and cried because I didn't want to go school. That was probably the toughest part of babysitting.

All in all, the kids were well behaved and we had a lot of fun together. They taught me a lot about being a mom.

Getting Ready for School

Naomi loves to wake up her cousins in the morning, but she is always so sad when they leave for school. The other day Naomi decided that if she got ready for school she could go too. So she put a bow in her hair, put on her cousin's shoes, got her bag and was ready to go. She's growing up way too fast.

My Little Superhero

(A blanket and a hair clip make
a good cape. So cute!)

A Day At the Zoo

So a family friend invited Naomi and me to go to the zoo. Nicole (the fam friend) has a little boy a year older than Naomi, and his name just happens to be Caleb. I think there may have been some confusion between this Caleb and Caleb from Utah, but I'm pretty sure she can tell the difference. Anyway, we had a lot of fun at the zoo. Naomi loved all the animals we got to see and she got to get a lot of energy out. She also enjoyed riding on the carousel, even though we sat in the handicap seat because she was too afraid to sit on an animal. Maybe next time. It was a successful trip because she took a really good nap afterwards. Thanks Nicole for inviting us.
Here are some pictures of the fun we had.
